Lot 42
First off, this has to be the deepest and darkest El Tinto we’ve ever made. And no duh, it’s 30% Malbec! Incredible color starts the experience off, leading into a nose filled with ripe red cherry (Malbec), raspberry (Barbera) and strawberry. But then there’s also an enticing hard-candy grape/watermelon note that just makes you want to jump into the wine. The first sip just envelops the senses with a luxurious softness on the entry. More blackberry (Zinfandel) characters come forth throughout the mid-palate, continuing with the silky texture of the wine. And all that sweet fruit builds into the finish with its mountain tannins balancing out the richness of the wine. Subtle vanilla and mocha oak spice round out the finish on this big and dense lot of El Tinto!
